Who are we?

We are a warm and welcoming Church, made up of down-to-earth people who are seeking to worship God and are passionate about serving our area of Brownsover. Christ Church has a long history of partnering with other church traditions and we value that we are a church where everybody is welcome.
As part of our parish we also have a beautiful 12th century church called St Michael & All Angels which has some exciting developments ahead. Find more information about St Michael & All Angels at the bottom of this page.

What to expect? (Services)

We are an informal church so please feel welcome to come as you are. We have no designated children's work just yet, however, we have activities for all ages to engage with during the service, and children are always welcome!

We enjoy a mixed variety of worship music at Christ Church, ranging from contemporary worship music to known hymns. Sometimes we have a band to lead us in our worship and other weeks we have an organist.

Our main service happens each Sunday at 10:30am.

For updates on our services you can follow the calendar at the bottom of page or follow the 'all churches calendar'.

What's Happening?

1277119

We have lots happening at Christ Church. We have a real passion for mission and for being part of our community. The best way to keep up to date with our events is to check the calendar but here are some of the highlights of what Christ Church is currently up to. Please do contact us if your have any questions regarding our events.

Men's Breakfast

All men are invited to join in a breakfast which is normally held at 8:30am on the second Saturday of every month. This is a place where men can gather to share friendship, fellowship and their Faith, or indeed simply ask questions about Faith and the big questions in life.

Ladies' Craft

An opportunity for ladies to come together and work on a project, or simply to come and chat within a supportive environment. This I sometimes enjoyed over a fish and chip lunch!

Bible Study

This is held weekly on a Wednesday evening at 7:30pm on zoom (the first Wednesday of the month is a prayer session) where all are invited to come, dig deeper and discuss passages of scripture from the Sunday service.

Hire of Church Space

We are fortunate to have a great space in our church in which the community often shares. If you would like to hire the octagon space at Christ Church please contact admin@beneficebcn.org.uk

St Michael & All Angels

A beautiful church on Brownsover lane (opposite Brownsover Hall Hotel). The church was used for regular worship until the early 1980's when plans were drawn up for a new church building (named Christ Church) on the rapidly expanding Brownsover estate.

Now that the Parish is growing, with Eden Park, Rocherbei Heights, and the Griffin School, we are planning to build a worshipping community in this area , using St Michael's as a base, where we can hold 6 Sunday services a year along with other events.

Plans for Autumn & Winter at St Michael and All Angels, 2026 include:

Harvest Festival -
Details to be confirmed
St Michael & All Angels Day - Morning Worship 27th September 10.30am
Morning Prayer - A space set apart to find peace, rest and prayer
- every Wednesday morning, 9.00am to 9.45 am
Christmas Service - Thursday December 24th - take time out from the usual Christmas rush and come and celebrate with all the family - due to popular demand (last year 127 people! in a space for 60!) we will be offering 2 services 3.00pm & 5.00pm, these will be by ticket (free) details to follow.
Mid Night Communion - 11.30pm Thursday 24th December - a very special traditional service,

Weddings at St Michael and All Angels

Because of the arrangement with Churches Conservation Trust who own the church, there are some special conditions applied to using the building for weddings which are only possible in this church with a Special Licence, obtained from the Archbishop of Canterbury’s office, and the agreement of the Incumbent at Christ Church. These services are subject to rules laid down which require the couple to have a ‘demonstrative connection’ with the church.

A service of blessing following a civil marriage, or a renewal of vows is possible with agreement from the Incumbent of Christ Church

Baptisms and Funerals
Baptisms and funerals are possible at St Michael & All Angels.
